Mixed-Signal Oscilloscopes with 40 serial Decoders
30 September 2024 - Pico Technology announced the launch of the MSO (Mixed-Signal Oscilloscope) versions of the PicoScope 3000E Series. The latest additions combine cutting-edge technology with user-friendly design to meet the diverse needs of engineers, technicians and researchers worldwide. These new MSO models offer the same powerful features as the existing 3000E series, with added digital channel capability, making them ideal for testing and debugging mixed-signal embedded systems.
High-Definition Oscilloscopes with Data Viewer Software
12 September 2024 - Yokogawa Test & Measurement Corporation announces the release of its DLM3000HD series high-definition oscilloscopes supported by new IS8002CDV Classic Data Viewer (CDV) software. The compact and lightweight multi-channel DLM3000HD meets market demand for high-precision, high-speed measurement of complex digital waveforms during inverter/motor development and testing. With a lineup spanning 500 MHz and 350 MHz frequency bandwidth models, the combination of proprietary low-noise detection and high resolution allows technicians to perform studies in minute detail, faster than ever before. The new IS8002CDV software further supports expediency with its rapid response times, swift analysis of measurement data, and advanced algorithms.
14-bit Precision Oscilloscope for general Applications
05 September 2024 - Keysight Technologies introduces the InfiniiVision HD3 Series, a 14-bit analog-to-digital converter (ADC) oscilloscope, delivering four times the signal resolution and half the noise floor of other general-purpose oscilloscopes. Newly designed and built from the ground up with a custom application-specific integrated circuit (ASIC) and deep memory architecture, the HD3 Series enables engineers to quickly detect and fix signal issues in a variety of applications.
Active Single-Ended Probe utilizing a Seven-Meter Probe Cable
14 August 2024 – Tektronix launched the TAP1500L, an active, single-ended probe equipped with a seven-meter probe cable. The launch of the TAP1500L probe underscores Tektronix’s unwavering commitment to pioneering probing technology, building off the success of the company’s IsoVu Probe which has the ability to virtually eliminate common mode interference using optical isolation. A modification to the existing TAP1500 active single-ended probe, this new version features a cable that is 5.7 meters longer than the original.
Extremely fast Data Transfer from Test Instruments to PC
06 August 2024 - Tektronix shared the availability of a new remote procedure call (RPC)-based solution, TekHSI, for faster data transfer from testing instruments to a user’s PC. TekHSI (Tektronix’s high speed interface) functions as a new firmware capability on the Tektronix MSO 4B, 5 and 6 Series models (including B and LP instrument renditions). The abstractions provided in TekHSI make it possible to achieve higher data transfer speeds with easy-to-use implementation and scaling abilities, and TekHSI enables Tektronix customers to capture the highest performance output from an instrument’s physical link, such as ethernet, and transfer data at higher speeds.
First ASIC-based Zone Triggering for Oscilloscopes
17 July 2024 - Rohde & Schwarz further strengthens its oscilloscope portfolio by introducing the industry’s first ASIC-based zone triggering. With this new approach, the MXO series can offer the world’s fastest zone trigger update rate of up to 600.000 waveforms per second and less than 1.45 us blind time between trigger events. It is up to 10 000 faster than competitive zone triggering offerings. Thanks to the new ASIC-based zone triggering, MXO oscilloscopes can precisely isolate events where traditional triggering does not provide the needed flexibility.
40 Serial Decoders as Standard included
26 June 2024 - Pico Technology announced a significant enhancement to its PicoScope range. Effective immediately, all PicoScope oscilloscopes now include a serial decoder for the 10BASE-T1S automotive Ethernet standard. This addition marks a milestone, bringing the total number of serial decoders available free of charge with PicoScope 7 software to 40 – more than any other oscilloscope in the market. The software is compatible with all current PicoScope models and legacy models marketed in the past seven years or longer.

Digitizer and Oscilloscope - Equal Alternatives?
Can a digitizer be used as an oscilloscope? What is the difference between an oscilloscope and a digitizer? Should I better use a digitizer or an oscilloscope in my next application? These are interesting questions and the best way to start to answer these is the look up the dictionary definition of an oscilloscope: "An electronic instrument used to measure changing electric voltages. It displays the waveforms of electric oscillations on a screen."
