MultiGBASE-T1 Automotive Ethernet Standard Compliance Test Solution
16 May 2022 - Teledyne LeCroy annouced a new MultiGBASE-T1 Automotive Ethernet standard compliance test solution. QPHY-MultiGBase-T1 is a software package which automates compliance testing and validation of 2.5G, 5G and 10G Automotive Ethernet, as is described in the MultGBase-T1 (IEEE 802.3ch) specification. Detailed connection diagrams ensure the proper setup and provide information about the required test pattern for each test. Upon completion of the test session, results are automatically compiled into a comprehensive report including screenshots.
Rigol added new Functions to MSO8000
03 May 2022 - Rigol improved the MSO8000 high-performance digital oscilloscope family in order to make its use and operability even more pleasant and versatile. The MSO8000 series is part of the UltraVision II oscilloscope portfolio, which also includes the proprietary ASIC chipset. Improvements and new functions are available e.g. in the areas of web control, touch display, acquisition memory and coding options.
Verification and Debugging of CAN XL and other Automotive Protocols
28 April 2022 - Keysight Technologies released the industry's first oscilloscope-based automotive protocol trigger/decode solution (D9010AUTP) covering CAN XL (Controller Area Network eXtra Long) that enables engineers to verify and debug low-speed automotive serial bus protocols and simplify the development and troubleshooting of systems including CAN/CAN FD (Flexible Data Rate) and CAN XL.
SIGLENT presents new Handheld Oscilloscope Series
26 April 2022 - SIGLENT Technologies introduced its two new X-Series of handheld oscilloscopes. These instruments replace the well-known SHS800 and SHS1000 series. The oscilloscopes feature two analog input channels and are available with analog bandwidths of 100 and 200 MHz. Both channels share a single ADC with 1 GSa/s maximum sample rate, and a single memory module of 12 Mpts acquisition memory. Beside the analog oscilloscope channels every model includes an isolated multimeter with 6000 counts and all multimeter typical measurements types like DC/AC Voltage, DC/AC Current, Resistance, Capacitance, Diodes, and Continuity.
Validation Solution for PCIe 5.0 and 6.0
22 April 2022 - Keysight Technologies announced an end-to-end PCIe test solution for digital development and senior engineers that enable the simulation, pathfinding, characterization, validation and compliance testing of PCIe designs. The new PCIe test solution leverages the company's physical layer-system simulation; physical layer interconnect, transmitter (Tx) and receiver (Rx) test; and a new protocol layer test solution consisting of hardware and software products.
Accurate Measurement System for GaN and SiC Semiconductor Analysis
19 April 2022 – Teledyne LeCroy launched a new DL-ISO High Voltage Optically Isolated 1 GHz Probe and Power-Device test software, which when combined with their High Definition Oscilloscopes (HDO) offer the most accurate electrical characterization of gallium nitride (GaN) and silicon carbide (SiC) power semiconductor devices. The new probe has the best signal fidelity, lowest overshoot and best accuracy — 1.5% when combined with Teledyne LeCroy’s industry-leading 12-bit resolution HDOs, nearly twice as good as the only competitor. The 1 GHz bandwidth meets requirements to measure GaN device 1 ns rise times.
Bit Error Ratio Test Solution validates up to 1.6 Terabits per Second
05 April 2022 - Keysight Technologies introduced a new 120 Giga Baud (GBd) High-Performance Bit Error Ratio Test (BERT) solution (M8050A) for validating next generation chip deployments of up to 120 GBd for 1.6T (or one trillion bits per second) market with unachieved signal integrity. The solution uses Keysight's Infiniium 80 GHz UXR oscilloscope as an acquisition-based Error-Analyzer in combination with the M8050A. It supports non return to zero (NRZ) and pulse amplitude modulation (PAM) 4, as well as PAM 6/8, which is likely required in 1.6T environment.

Digitizer and Oscilloscope - Equal Alternatives?
Can a digitizer be used as an oscilloscope? What is the difference between an oscilloscope and a digitizer? Should I better use a digitizer or an oscilloscope in my next application? These are interesting questions and the best way to start to answer these is the look up the dictionary definition of an oscilloscope: "An electronic instrument used to measure changing electric voltages. It displays the waveforms of electric oscillations on a screen."
